The horses of Melawi...

During the recent CNY holidays, we went to Bachok ...planning to have a picnic in its centre of attraction... Pantai Irama ...but there were too many people around and we made up our mind for a 2nd option instead...Pantai Melawi.

Melawi is located within the District of Bachok, Kelantan ...and that was out 1st time there....and we were happy to be there ..its beach is much wider compared to Pantai Irama.. during low tide, a game of beach football seems possible..

And we were fortunate that afternoon to see the horses of Melawi ... their appearance had definitely created some attraction to the visitors, especially those who have not seen a horse physically. 

We've met the owner...who called himself "Abang Yie Kudo" (read: kudo = horse). He originated from Taiping, Perak ..migrated to Kelantan during his youth and had settled down in Melawi since ..very friendly and the way he was telling his story shows that he really loves to live there. Currently, he owns about 15 horses ...a breeder himself and had sold many previously. The price of the horses depends ...between RM3500 to RM10K, including transportation cost.

These horses were trained on the beach for the coming 2011 races around Kelantan. According to Abang Yie Kudo, there is about 10 to 12 races a year, and cash money for winnings..

D a n g a B a y = T e l u k D a n g a (f.k.a. Pantai Lido)

...dah lama tak sampai ke sini... Teluk Danga ...hhmmm, yang aku tahu... Pantai Lido, nama yang glamor jugak dulu2. Kurang pasti siapa yang pilih nama Danga tu... setup sekarang mmg lebih menarik daripada 15 tahun dulu, kali terakhir aku berhenti dan jejak kaki kat pantai ni....selain tu cuma tengok dalam tv bila ada coverage Jom Heboh TV3.

....cuma yang kurang menarik... kawasan persekitarannya agak gelap... terutama sebelah teluk ..tak tahulah kalau time ada event diorang suluh lampu banyak2... dah lah aku lupa bawak tripod, nasib2 lah shoot handheld ni... jadi, jadi. tak jadi... nasiblah.

Its different now...

It has been quite sometimes that I have dropped by ... usually it was a peek from far while driving along Jalan Kuching or Tun Perak ...but that night, after we had our dinner in Kelana Jaya, it seems too early to be heading home ...that was about 2330 hours.

Yeah ..tomorrow is still weekend ..that's why our eyes were wide opened ..seem sleepy was secondary although it was almost midnight ... grizzling but the lights on Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad has to much attraction to leave... we waited but not too long ...it stops after a few minutes ...took out the camera and tripod ..we gathered around and had some shots together ...while waiting the midnight clock ticking.

We acknowledged that the property department has done a very good job to lit up the building ...creating a new kind of sensation looking at it ...colourful ...it feels good to be there.


At midnight ...more people coming ...looks like the day will not end so soon ...perhaps it has always been a 24/7 live within its surrounding.
